Catherine Margaret Sundius

Catherine Margaret Thompson Sundius passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Heartlands Assisted Living Home surrounded by her husband and children.

Born in Manchester, NH, she lived in many places including White River Junction, VT, Annapolis, MD, Syracuse, NY, Swampscott, MA, Mountain Lakes, NJ, Piedmont, CA, Fairfield, CT, Lexington, SC and Severna Park, MD.

Mrs. Sundius was a caring nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She attended St John’s School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for the Veterans’ Administration in Manchester, New Hampshire. She married Robert Edwin Sundius, of Brooklyn, NY in 1954. Together, they cared for and loved their nine children and 24 grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, all nine of her devoted children: Mary Ellen Connolly, Mary Jane Sundius, Robert Edwin Sundius, Jr., Mary Kathleen Smith, Carl William Sundius, Mary Margaret Auger, John Daniel Sundius, Mary Ann Rose, and Charles Michael Sundius, and 24 loving grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home located at 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 2, 2013 at noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church located at 669 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD.
