Diane Alice O'Farrell

Born in Passaic, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late John and Stella Sobota and wife to James O’Farrell whom she was married to for 48 years.

She graduated from Patterson State College in Wayne, NJ and went on to teach Elementary school in Clifton, NJ until 1965. She then became a homemaker until the mid 1980s when she began working at HRB Singer in Lanham, MD and later the Prince George’s County public schools and retired in the early 2000s.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters and spouses, Mary Anne and Bill Crim of Manchester, MD, Eileen and David Mumford of Millersville, MD, Diane and Dan Leighton of Cary, NC and Rosemary Montgomery of Catlettsburg , KY, Sisters and spouses Joan and Bob Crane and Maryanne and Al Storey.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Sean and Allison Crim, Thomas, Andrew and William Mumford, Mikayla and Noah Montgomery, and Jonathan Leighton.

The family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd. Bowie, MD 20715, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2013, 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Chapel, 16501 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD 20715. Interment will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
