I have so many wonderful memories of Mort from so many years ago. He was larger than life with a playful spirit and a huge heart. His sense of humor often gave way to a surprisingly insightful perspective and he was an important part of my life. I’ve thought of him often over the years, hoping he had the happiness he deserved. This beautiful tribute shows he was well-loved by so many. I am so very sorry for his family and friends who lost him much too soon. Mort, we are all blessed that we knew you.

When Don walked in to our office to apply for a sales job, we knew right away that this lanky kid, fresh out of college, with his easy smile would be an asset to our company. Little did we know that over 35 years later he would be the true-blue friend and confidante that he was. Don was a loyal and trustworthy person, always had the best interest of our company at heart. We've had many memorable (and fun) times over the years...his 30th birthday party, the unforgettable eulogy he delivered at his mother's funeral his wedding and many other milestones in our lives. Rest in peace dear Don. You are truly missed.

Mort and I were pledge brothers in the RHO pledge class of Kappa Sigma eons ago when we both had hair. I haven't seen him in many years but I will always remember his spirit and hold him close in my heart, AEKDB Brother Mort...Godspeed.

My friend, Donald, friend of all...
Donald Morton, nicknamed “Mort the Sport” in high school at T.C. Williams in Alexandria Virginia. He was a fun loving man who had a great spirit for life and love. He made us laugh, he was there to support his friends, and he was always a positive person to be around. He drove a car that was also nicknamed “the fish”. Likely because he was out and about, and it was a cool car that deserves it’s own name! At our 40th high school reunion he was upbeat, positive and it was so nice to reconnect with him. Sadly, he is gone way too soon. I’ll always remember him fondly and keep him in my heart. My deepest condolences to his family - he is greatly missed! Love, Carole Dwyer Waring

The best way I can describe my memories of “Mort” is to say that whenever he was in a room at the fraternity house, Kappa Sigma, that room was always roaring in laughter. Mort was a great leader and he led his brothers by the way of a smile. Mort, we are brothers forever, RIP.
