Doris Beth Gaffney of Bowie, Maryland died on Thursday, January 5, 2012. Doris was born January 24, 1926 in Norway, Kansas to the late Walter and Nellie B. Darlington. Doris is the wife of the late Gerald Paul Gaffney; mother of Walter D. Gaffney and his wife Fei of Bowie, Maryland, Patricia N. Armiger and her husband Charles of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Mary M. Gaffney of Chicago, Illinois, Ann C. Cagigas and her husband Jaime of Lorton, Virginia, and Michael J. P. Gaffney and his wife Trish of Dallas, Texas; sister of Anna Ruth Pendleton and the late Mary Nell Grady. Doris is survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, Maryland 20715 on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Chapel, Bowie, Maryland. Interment Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colon Cancer Association.
