

Eleanor Louise Cook, 97, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023. Born in Pennsylvania, she moved to Washington, DC after WWll. Eleanor married Fulton H Cook, from New Castle, Pennsylvania, in Montgomery County, MD. Eleanor began as a buyer for Lansburg Stores and The Esther Shops. Raising six children in the suburbs of Washington, DC, she continued to work until into her mid 80’s. Her successful and varied career in real estate brought her in contact with many different families and situations in which she flourished. Eleanor earned several accolades and awards throughout her career. Her skills with people and willingness to learn always kept her in the now. Throughout her life she made long lasting friendships and respect among her peers. Eleanor had many loves, her large and diverse family stood out far greater than any other. She never failed to center her life around them, their activities, such as Sunday family dinners followed by a competitive game of poker, and other family interests like music and football. Her eclectic interest in the arts, literature, music, reading are among the few she shared and participated in with family. A lover and supporter of all animals but held a special place in her heart for her cat Pushka & grand dog Beasley.
Eleanor’s was predeceased by her husband Fulton H Cook. She leaves her daughter Briget Kane and husband Lloyd Kane, daughter Cecelia Cook and husband Robert Christmas, daughter Molly Casazza and husband Andrew Casazza, son Shawn Cook and wife Suzanne Jones Cook and eight grandchildren, Tina Butler, Scott Faber, Regina Good, Edward Katchmark Jr, Richard VanMeter, Joseph VanMeter, Lisa Crain, Michael Casazza, Karen Swezy, Mitchell Cook, and Alyssa Cook. Great-grandchildren, Dylan Butler, Lauren Faber, Brandon Good, Michael Good, Amanda Good, Harley Shae Curtin, Trevor VanMeter, Lilianna VanMeter, Justin Crain, Nicholas Crain, Aiden Swezy, Jiana Casazza, John M. Casazza, Brayden Cook, Jaxon Cook, Isabella Cook, Great-great Grandchildren, Riley Good, Melvin Good, Archie Good, Blake Good, Tye Butler.
Eleanor was also predeceased by her daughter Kathleen Cook, son Dennis Cook and Great-Granddaughter Jacklyn Butler. Eleanor also leaves various extended family and friends who carry fond memories with them of their adventures with Eleanor.
Services will be held at Robert Evans Funeral Home, 1600 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, Md 20715, Visitation Sunday, January 15, 2023, 3pm-6pm. Funeral, Monday January 16, 2023, 10am-with the Internment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Annapolis, MD
