Uncle Bill was an incredible strength and loving brother-in-law to my mother, Lois Arnold and to all the Arnold family. He was a true gentleman and just a gracious human being who was a genuinely honest and caring person and will be greatly missed! With love, Lois Arnold Boatman

Bill took me under his wing in 1983 when I joined NASCOM as a kid, fresh out of the Army. During my 24 year tenure,  "Uncle Bill" ran the shop for a majority of that time. To sit beside hime and watch/learn binary,octal and hexidecimal for the first time was an astounding experience. Very little escaped this man's grasp of undestanding what went on in his domain. Regret pains my heart that I had not been in contact recently, a 'should give him a call' opportunity I let slip by.  Well respected by all.

Now free, he has peace. He is missed by all. My prayers are with the Carson Family. A fellow Vet that served his country well,

My deepest sympathy to all of the Carson Family. Bill Carson was my boss, my mentor, and my friend.I had many memorable days working for Bill.Deeply saddened with his passing.

We have lost a real "COMM GUY". Bill was the "MASTER" of the Tech Control area of the NASA Communications Network, NASCOM. During critical mission support activities he was always there directing the efforts of the Tech Controllers in assuring that the Data Network was ready to support NASA Launch and post launch activities. The Tech Controllers that remain to follow in his footsteps have benefited from his knowledge and leadership.

Regards to the Carson Family. I shall always remember Bill as a true professional and friend. I shall always remember the Mission Readiness and DRC meetings where he enlightened many Civil Servants what it took to have a successful mission. They say no one is irreplaceable. Bill may have been the exception.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Carson family. My memorable days were working for Bill in Tech control here at Goddard Space Flight Center.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Bill's 
passing. We worked together at GSFC for 23 years. He was a very honest and creative man and was a great asset to the Shuttle program.  God bless the family.

I had the great privilege of working with "Mr. Bill" in one capacity or another through the first 100 Space Shuttle missions until my own retirement in December of 2000.  Loved for his sense of humor, respected for his wealth of knowledge, and recognized for the many contributions he made to the NASA mission, Forrest W. Carson was and always will be one of a kind.  It was an honor knowing him, and may he rest in peace.

To the Carson family, Billy and I were 1st cousins.  Living in East Point, GA we often played together, Billy, his brother Wayne, and I.  His mother Florence was a precious, and gracious aunt.  I can still remember their home number in the early 1940's, Calhoun 2091.. after all these years. May the peace of God that passes all understanding be with you.

I am very sad to hear the news of Bill's passing. I have such great admiration for Bill and the lessons he taught me which I frequently practice today. I hope one day to achieve the level of respect his staff had for him.

I cherish the walking cane he made me for my birthday. My family and I offer our prayers to the Carson's during this time of grief and please take comfort in knowing the world was a better place because of his presence.

Bill was very instrumental in my becoming a good NASCOM engineer.  He taught me a lot of things that were not covered in engineering classes.  His legacy in our present communication area at Goddard lives through the various people in which he positively affected. We also spent a lot of time talking about Georgia.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.
