George Edwin Warren

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Edwin Warren, age 71, of Davidsonville, Maryland. George passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 24, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend - and above all, a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ.

George was born on January 20, 1955, in Washington, D.C., to the late Robert B. Warren and Lois Ann Rothwell, affectionately known as "Sweet Lo." His sister, Roberta, joined the family in 1958. It was love at first sight. Born and raised in D.C., George began working at an early age. Among his many jobs, he cooked at the Pancake House with the Blackwell brothers and his future sister in law, and worked as a bellhop at the Hilton.

In 1975, George married the love of his life, Donna Blackwell. As a husband, George loved faithfully and selflessly. With some firm "encouragement" from his father-in-law, Jack Blackwell, to find a real job and support his daughter, George joined Steamfitters Local 602. He became a steamfitter and graduated as valedictorian of his class. He took great pride in his trade, working with dedication, skill, integrity, and honesty. He later shared his knowledge and experience as an instructor at the Steamfitters trade school, where he taught for many years.

An entrepreneur at heart, George bought his first company, BPI, in 1985. The family jokingly said the initials stood for "Blackwells, Plumbers, and In-Laws." Over the years, the business employed many members of his family, including his mother, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. BPI reflected both George's enterprising nature and his commitment to helping and supporting the people he loved. He believed in working diligently, serving others, and honoring God in both the ordinary and extraordinary moments of life.

George and Donna began their family with the birth of their first daughter, Christina, in October 1978. Michelle followed in 1982, and Jessica was born in 1989. His daughters were among the greatest loves of his life, and he treasured the many adventures and special moments he shared with each of them.

His heart expanded even more as each grandchild entered the world: Giovanni, Cali, Jacob, Lizzy, Jack, Adelynn, Leah and Bree. He truly loved spending time with each one of them and uniquely invested in his relationships with them. He had a way of making them feel loved by knowing their individual interests. They were his adventure buddies; going to Christian concerts, Redskins and Orioles games, skiing and traveling wherever he would take them. As a father and grandfather, he led by example, teaching his family the importance of faith, integrity, hard work, compassion and unconditional love. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, leaving them with treasured memories and a spiritual legacy that will endure for generations.

George's life changed profoundly in 1985. His six-year-old daughter Christina, who had been attending Cornerstone Church with her Aunt Linda and Uncle Jim, came home one day and said, "Dad, you should be taking me to church like Uncle Jim takes Tina." That was all George needed to hear.

After his first experience at Cornerstone, George walked out of the church and said, "I don't know what just happened to me, but something did." Linda and Jim knew what happened. From that moment forward, George was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit. He spent countless hours reading God's Word, deepening his relationship with Jesus, and sharing the Lord's love and grace with others.

His adventurous spirit and love of travel led him to participate in hundreds of mission trips through Cornerstone. Through these experiences, he found his calling to minister to others and laid the foundation for what would become Kingdom Investors.

In 2001, George founded Kingdom Investors, a nonprofit organization devoted to raising funds for local and global charities, serving others, meeting practical needs, and spreading the Word of God. For 25 years, his connections with world-wide organizations such as Convoy of Hope and Builders International allowed him to touch tens of thousands of lives both at home and around the world. One of his favorite charities was “Kids Against Hunger” with food packing drives producing over 200,000 meals a year. Everything George did was guided by his faith in Jesus and his love for others. His greatest desire was for everyone to have a personal relationship with the Lord and to know His boundless love and grace.

Even throughout his cancer journey he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, generosity, and a genuine love for others. Whether he was going through treatments, gathering with family, building the church, or simply making a trip to the store, he loved starting conversations and talking to others about the Lord. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, loved, and valued. He spread the joy of Jesus wherever he went.

George will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother and uncle, faithful friend, skilled steamfitter, gifted teacher, mentor, spirited entrepreneur, and humble servant of God. His warmth made people feel special, his wisdom offered guidance, and his faith inspired all who knew him.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we rejoice in the assurance of God's promise. We believe George has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." He is now in the presence of his Savior, whom he faithfully loved and served throughout his life.

Rest in the arms of Jesus, George. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered - until we meet again.

Visitation on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10:00 am.

The Celebration of Life Service will begin Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:00 am.
