He lived in Annapolis for four years with his sister, Sandra Nash who also provided guidance and care during his 4-month illness. Before Annapolis he lived in South Florida, near Naples. Glenn is much loved by the Shuart family in part due to his compassionate, gentile, and friendly spirit. Glenn will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Glenn is the youngest son of Stanley W. Shuart and Alice R. Shuart of Florida and was married to Judith Shuart, now deceased. He leaves a son, Glenn Shuart, Jr. and grandson, Dylan both of Dania Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his sisters Judith Williams of Bend, Oregon and Valerie Edwards of Ajijic, Mexico. Two brothers, Bruce and Stanley predeceased him.
Glenn served proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the “Cold War” at Ramstein Air Base Germany. After his military service, he worked in the human resource business, the hospitality field, and for Trio – an electronic manufacturing company in Santa Barbara.
Whales of all types and the study of their marine environment were passionate interests of Glenn’s. As a resident naturalist in California, he particularly enjoyed sharing his knowledge with hundreds, perhaps thousands of visitors to Santa Cruz Islands and whale watching in Santa Barbara during the time he lived there. He loved to listen to classical music and photographed birds and flowers as pastimes. St. Luke’s Church in Eastport was his chosen congregations during the last few years in Annapolis.
