Helen E. Robey

Helen Elizabeth Robey of New Carrollton passed away peacefully January 27, 2015. Born December 16, 1931 in Bowie, the youngest daughter of Paul and Lola Lloyd. Her beloved husband of over 60 years, John, passed away in 2011. They were high school sweethearts. She will be dearly missed by her three sons, John (Melissa), Paul (Barbara) and William (Nancy); two grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Helen was a graduate of Laurel High School. She worked at the New Carrollton Public Library and retired from the University of Maryland McKeldin Library. Helen's many interests included reading biographies, doing word puzzles, listening to county music, big band and Engelbert Humperdinck. Those who knew Helen know she loved Betty Boop! Her sweet disposition and caring for others brightened the lives she touched.

Relatives and friends may call at the ROBERT E. EVANS FUNERAL HOME, Rt. 450 & Racetrack Rd. on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 2 to 4 and

6 to 8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC 20017.
