James Patrick Maloy, known to his family as "Bean", of Bowie, MD, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024 at the age of 63. He was born to Edward James (1928 - 1994) and Mary Louise in Washington D.C. on April 11, 1961, the fifth of six children. He is survived by his mother, his five sisters (Debbie, Kim, Mickey, Doreen and Paige) as well as his four children (Kaitlin, Molly, James and Luke).
Bean and his family ran J-Mart, a popular old Bowie deli until it closed in 2004. He has since worked as a stone mason for the D.C. Metro totaling 18 years. He loved to golf and never resisted an opportunity to sing and dance. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial gathering for Bean will be held Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, Maryland 20715, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM.
