James Gerard St. Ledger

Jim was born on September 22, 1952, in Washington, D.C. He was the first of seven children born to James J. and Joan E. St. Ledger in District Heights, Maryland.

Jim received a Bachelors of Science at Frostburg University and a Masters of Education in Administration from West Virginia University. Jim taught in Prince Georges County Maryland Public School System for over 30 years. He was a social studies teacher at Surrattsville Junior and Senior High Schools, and an Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Surrattsville High School. He was a sports fan and coached boys wrestling, boys soccer, boys football, girls basketball and won 5 State Titles with the girls softball team at Surrattsville High School.

Jim also traveled extensively to ball fields and Catholic Churches across the country with family and friends to see professional football, baseball and soccer. Jim was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan.

Jim’s surviving siblings include William (Trish), Gerard, Patricia McDermott (Michael), Robert (Lisa), Rosemary Autry (Lee) and Colleen, and fourteen nieces and nephews, and seventeen grandnieces and grandnephews.

Family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715 on November 20, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church Chapel, 16501 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD, 20715, on November 21, 2025, at 12:00 pm.

A graveside service and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery, 16501 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD, 20715, on November 21, 2025, on or around 1:00 pm in the church cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Chapel.
