Janet Boyer

A devoted mother of two, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of seven, Janet lived a long and meaningful life filled with beloved family and friends. She was a source of strength, kindness, and generosity to all who knew her. Her warmth and wisdom touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered for the unconditional love and guidance she gave to her family and friends.

A member of the Red Hat Sisters, she loved get-togethers, field trips and game playing with her adored friends. She enjoyed singing with the Bowie Senior Chorale, and line, tap and ballroom dancing at the senior center.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Debora Boyer and son, Joseph Boyer, Jr.; grandchildren Christopher Sabatino (Elizabeth), Julianne Maston (William), Joseph Boyer, III, Corey Boyer, Amanda Boyer, and Kailee Boyer; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Peggy Webb (Barry), Phillip Massey (Helen), and Lisa Massey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Jean Smith and Linda Sue “Susie” Massey.

A visitation for Janet will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715. Her funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM,

She will be laid to rest in Shiloh Cemetery, 197 Shiloh Church Road, Sparta, NC 28675, her graveside & interment will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
