John Ray Mueller

September 13, 1941 – July 9, 2023
Obituary of John Ray Mueller
IN THE CARE OF

Robert E. Evans Funeral Home

John Ray Mueller, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Gambrills, MD on July 9, 2023. Born in Steelton, PA to Ray C. Mueller and Sara Jane P. Mueller, John went on to graduate from Bucknell University and worked in tax and accounting at AMP Incorporated for almost 40 years in Harrisburg, PA. He moved to Annapolis, MD upon his retirement.

John was a faithful attendee and follower of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Annapolis, where he was well loved by his church family. He also served diligently as Vice President, then President and Treasurer of the Carroll’s Creek Condo Association from 2017-2019.

Known to be patient, kind and a man of few words, John enjoyed skiing, cycling, rollerblading, running, sailing, target shooting and collecting baseball cards. John listened to music of all genres, but particularly loved rock and roll and bluegrass. He was always quick to pass on political jokes to those who shared in his humor, which was dry and somewhat corny. He was young at heart and up for any adventure, whether riding roller coasters at Disney World and Busch Gardens or four wheeling in Alaska.

John is predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Sharon Conner, his second wife, Beverley K. Mueller. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis K. Mueller, his sister, Mary Jane Miller, his son Paul C. Mueller (Karla), his daughter Valerie C. McDougald (Al), his stepdaughter Dawn Graves (Kevin), and his stepson David Fredericks. John leaves behind five grandchildren—Mack and Marissa McDougald, Baylee and Charlie Mueller, and Kieran Graves.

A memorial service is being planned for later. Details will be updated to this site.

In lieu of flowers or donations, John’s family would love for those who knew and loved him to share memories and tribute to John on the Robert Evans website; www.robertevansfuneralhome.com
