Kenneth T. Conway

Kenneth T. Conway 10/9/1930 – 5/21/2015 – lifelong resident of Bowie, MD departed this life on Thursday, May 21 after a very brief illness at Georgetown University Hospital. Services were conducted May 27 at Evans Funeral Home in Bowie and internment was at Ft. Lincoln Brentwood, MD. Kenneth was a veteran and served in Okinawa. After returning from the service he along with his brothers (Jack, Donald and good friend/employee Henry Baldwin) were the proprietors/mechanics for many years of Jack’s Garage (Exxon Station) which was located in what is now the antique district of Old Town Bowie– the gas station sat directly across from the Old Bowie Fire Station. He closed the gas station in 1986. His family was well known for being business and land owners in Bowie. His father owned a construction business and assisted with building Lanham-Severn Road. The family owned and operated the Railroad Inn which was well known for pizza and the best of Bleu Cheese dressing. He was a car enthusiast – he loved being shown all of the cars from his past on the internet and was very amazed by technology. Horse races were a favorite passion and past time. He remained interested in all current and world events throughout his years of retirement. Kenneth was known for having a wonderful sense of humor and great attitude about life in general. He often stated that he felt he was “one lucky man” to have the friends and predominately healthy life that he did. His home, garden and garage were among his favorite places to spend time over the years. Kenneth’s beloved wife Angelina passed away April 25, 2006 – he missed her greatly. The youngest of 6 children - he was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret Donnelly Conway, four brothers – George, Donald, Jack and Arthur (Brother) and one sister Mary Margaret Pardoe. He is survived by several nieces, nephews and beloved family friends with whom he enjoyed these past several years. He leaves behind numerous local friends with whom he often visited with and enjoyed. He now rests gently and joins his beloved Angelina.
