

She is survived by Bernard "Archie" Lyons, her loving husband of 59 years, her son Thomas and wife Barbara(Bowie, MD) son Jeffrey (Huntsville,AL), her sister Edith and husband Harry Zetty, brother David and wife Betty Black and and brother James and wife Gayle Black. In addition, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Joyce, and her parents Albert and Ella Black.
Marian was born November 3, 1939 and raised in Brownsville, PA . She and her husband Bernard had a life-long relationship, growing up as nearby neighbors from childhood. Upon graduation from Brownsville High School in 1957, she attended Washington Hospital School of Nursing and received her diploma as a Registered Nurse. She then began her career in nursing at Prince George's General Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland, where she would continue in service in nursing and management for over 40 years.
Marian gave tirelessly in service and love of others, and nearly everyone who knew her came to lovingly refer to as "Mom" or "Duck". She and Bernard have been active members of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Bladensburg, MD for over 40 years. A true shining example of caring, nurturing and giving, she was a devoted wife and mother and a friend to anyone in need. She earned her wings dearly, and now she has been called home to God for her eternal rest.
Viewing services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home (16000 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD, 20715).
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 with a brief remembrance service at the Evans Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Fort Lincoln Cemetery (3401 Bladensburg Rd,Brentwood, MD 20722).
