Marion Celeste Bedwell

Marion Celeste Bedwell, age 98, passed away on Friday, 22 January, 2021 after a brief illness at Heartfields of Bowie, Maryland. She was born on 18 March, 1922 in Drew, Mississippi to Claudine and W. H. Henson, but spent most of her life in Washington, D.C., where she worked for the Federal Government, then retired to Bowie, Maryland. She and her husband of 43 years, Hollis R. Bedwell, were great parents and very active in the Masonic Blue Lodge, Eastern Star and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. She kept busy after retirement working with her Church, Meals On Wheels, Help By Phone, and playing canasta with neighbors and friends. A very shy person, Celeste was actually athletic most of her life and was a star basketball player in school. She loved watching almost any sports on TV, particularly golf, tennis and football. She even went parasailing and snorkeling in the Caribbean in her 90's. She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis; son David Henson Bedwell; and three much beloved brothers, Walter H. Henson, William K Henson, and Robert K. Henson. She is survived by her daughter Emily A. Koebig, her husband Mak, and her son Donald C. Bedwell.
