Mary Freeman Kay

On Saturday May 21, 2016 of Owings, Md., formerly of Huntingtown and Bowie Md. Mary was a well known harpist who attended Elmhurst Academy in Providence, R.I. and studied with harpist/composer Marcel Grandjeny . Daughter of the late Christine and Thomas J. Freeman of East Greenwich, R.I. Sister to the late Anne Cragan and Martha Cawley of East Greenwich, R.I. Beloved Wife of the late Russell W. Kay, mother of Mary E. Kay, Russell F. Kay ( Janice), Geoffrey D.Kay, Thomas A.Kay (Joan) and the late James A. Kay, preceded in death by son in-law Gerard D. Smith. She is survived by daughter-in- law Patricia D. Kay,14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD on Wednesday May 25, 2016 from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon Thursday May 26 2016 at Sacred Heart Church Chapel, Bowie MD. Interment will follow in the Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Chapel Restoration Fund.
