Michael Garrison Fahey
September 20, 1976 – October 21, 2019
"Michael Garrison Fahey, most recently of Glenn Dale, MD passed away on October 21, 2019 at the age of 43. Michael was born in Allentown, PA on September 20, 1976. At the age of six he moved to the DC area with his family. Growing up in Cheverly, Michael played Boys & Girls Club soccer, basketball and baseball, but spent countless hours on the clay tennis courts at the Cheverly Pool.
He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Wilmington, DE where he played on the varsity tennis team. After high school, Michael attended George Mason University.
Michael is survived by his parents Lynn (Terry) Wolf and John (Nancy) Fahey; his wife, Alexis Sien; his sisters Kelly (David) Frenck and Kathleen (John) Regentin; his step sisters Jennifer (Jason Marshall) McCarthy, Laurie (Montague) McCathern, his nephews William and Patrick Rogers, Jack Regentin; and his niece Audrey Regentin.
Michael was a loving husband, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and uncle. Michael loved working in hospitality. He spent 25 years performing various management roles in the bar and restaurant industry. He worked at some of the best-known restaurants in the DC area and in Marin County, CA. In 2008, Michael moved to the greater San Francisco area, in Marin County, CA to be with Alexis and to continue his career in the hospitality industry. In 2013, he hosted an intimate and lovely wedding—highlighting his love for Alexis, which was celebrated with family, friends, food and wine. He celebrated his 40th birthday with a golf trip to Pebble Beach with his father, step-father, and dear friend Richard Simpson—it was a Bucket List item fully realized. An avid golfer, Michael always brought his clubs wherever he was traveling.
In 2018, Michael returned to the DC area. While the past year was difficult for Michael, it was also a year filled with much love and laughter with his family—especially his nephews William and Patrick.
His family and friends will miss Michael’s handsome smile, charismatic personality, and his un-ending expressions of love. Our world is a little dimmer now, but we know his star is shining brightly in the universe."
