Passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 of Bowie, MD. She married Hal Grainger on June 5, 1953 and had two daughters. The family traveled the world with the Air Force. While stationed at Clark AFB in the Philippines, Phyllis was the president of the Officers Wives Club and Editor of the base newspaper. Her tireless drive to be involved continued when the family finally settled in Bowie, MD in 1966. She became active in Jobs Daughters, a Masonic girls organization and dedicated her heart and life to the betterment of young women. She was also active in Eastern Star and later became president of Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Phi Chapter. She was a talented floral designer and decorator, but her real passion was traveling. She has embarked on her final journey of a wonderful life. She is survived by her well-loved daughters, Jana Lea Castle of Columbia, MD and Kimberly Ann Grainger of St. Petersburg, FL and her brother, James Bagley of Phoenix, AZ. The family will receive friends at the ROBERT E. EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD on Sunday, April 3 from 2 to 3 p.m., where a funeral service will be held at at 3 p.m. Interment Lake View Cemetery in Lake View, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
