

Rudolph (Rudy) John Kormanik of Crofton, Maryland, formerly of Vienna, Virginia, died on March 15, 2012, at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Maryland. He was born on January 21, 1925, in Franklin Borough, Cambria County, Pennsylvania to Charles Vasil Kormanik and Martha (Drenchko) Kormanik. Rudolph is the husband of the late Martha E. Kormanik. He is the father of, and is survived by, Karen and David R., Sr.; daughter-in-law Michele, grandsons David Jr. and Daniel, and Great Granddaughter Eva Marie (by David Jr.). He is additionally survived by his brother, Joseph Kormanik of New York City and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Kormanik was a World War II veteran and served with the U.S. Navy on landing craft (Higgins Boats) in the Solomon Islands. He was later stationed on the Island of Guam, awaiting further assignment, when the war ended. His lifelong profession was in the auto body repair field and spent the majority of that career managing a shop in Arlington, Tyson's Corner and Manassas, VA. Funeral Services and burial will take place at a later date at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
