Ruth Anne Wickstrom, age 94, of Glenn Dale, MD, passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, September 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Victor Wickstrom, and her brother, Walter S. House, Jr. She is survived by three daughters, Valerie Hudson, Gail Parks, and Lorraine Wickstrom, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Ruth Anne House was born on June 20, 1931, in New York, NY, the daughter of Elsie A. House (nee Reiss) and Walter S. House, Sr. She grew up in Brooklyn, graduated secretarial school and worked prior to marriage and raising a family. She moved from New York to New Jersey to Maryland, residing 47 years in Kensington, MD and then 12 years in Glenn Dale to live with her youngest daughter and grandsons.
A memorial gathering on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from Noon until 1 pm, with her service in celebration of her life to follow at 1 pm at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road in Bowie.
