

She was born in Washington, D.C. on May 2, 1944, and graduated from Bladensburg High school in 1962. Sharon went on to complete trade courses and entered the health care industry, specializing in patient account management. Her career spanned more than 40 years working for Greater Southeast Community Hospital, Prince George’s Hospital Center, Hadley Memorial Hospital, finally making her home, 17 years ago, at the Hospital for Sick Children until her retirement, September 2015.
Sharon was proceeded in death by her parents William Alton and Gloria Hope Layton; an Aunt, Alma Virginia Crayle; an Uncle, William Frances Owens; and cousins William Frank Crayle, Sr. and Edward August Crayle.
Sharon is survived by her sister-in-law, Toni Layton of Oklahoma, many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends Bob Thomas, Jim and Marilea Flanagan, Sharon Brown and many others.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 19 at 10 to 11a.m ., followed by services at 11 a.m. at ROBERT E. EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, Md. 20715.
Interment to follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, Md.
