Steve dedicated more than 30 years of his career as a Construction Manager with Moeller Pools. Later, he embraced a new adventure as an over-the-road truck driver for Burns Motor Freight, where he worked until his retirement.

Above all, Steve treasured his family. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 63 years, Patricia McCarty (née Bradley); his daughter, Kathryn Cleaver, and her husband, John; his granddaughter, Sara Grove, and her husband, Phillip; and his four cherished great-granddaughters, Lyla, Alani, Willa, and Alessia.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Winters Kyle McCarty and Ruby Sharp McCarty, and by his five siblings, Robert, Erma, Charles, Marian, and Gerald “Butch” McCarty.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Steve’s life. Visitation will be Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home in Bowie, Maryland.
