Sweeney and the late Lourie L. Skaggs and William E. Sweeney, Jr.; brother of Raymond S. Sweeney and the late Norman A. Sweeney; grandfather of Jessica, James, Charles, Nicholas, Michael, Steven, Katelyn and Christine; great-grandfather of Samantha and Amanda. Family and friends will be received at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, Maryland 20715 on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Fort Lincoln Chapel, Brentwood, MD. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
