Celinda A. Crego, 68, of Lakeview, NY, passed away on July 4, 2026. A dedicated professional and a cherished family member, she leaves behind a legacy of innovation and deep personal connection.
Professional Legacy
A proud 1979 graduate of Cornell University, Celinda built a remarkable career as a food scientist. She was instrumental in the development of new formulations and products for renowned brands, including Progresso Soup, Campbell’s Soup, and Beech-Nut. Most recently, she served as the Director of Product Development at Cliffstar in Dunkirk, NY. Beyond her professional achievements, she was a dedicated leader in the Cornell Clubs of both Buffalo and Philadelphia, where she remained actively involved.
Cherished Family
Celinda was predeceased by her beloved mother, Gretchen Crego (née Scheutzow). She is survived by her father, Burton Crego; her brother, Scott Crego and his wife, Ann Marie (Hopcroft) Crego; her nephew, Andrew Crego and his wife, Katie Neville; her niece, Carolyn Crego; her nephew, Alexander Crego; and her beloved great-niece, Lydia Crego. Celinda found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends, cultivating relationships that defined her life.
Service and Remembrance
In accordance with her wishes, private services will be held for the family at a later date. Celinda will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Oswego, NY, joining her mother and grandparents.
