Jim was an honest, hardworking, straight-shooting, blue-collar family man who took great pride in everything he did. A proud union electrician with local#41, he was an avid golfer, fisherman, bowler, horseshoe thrower, and lifelong Buffalo Bills fan. But above all else, Jim was a devoted family man who always put his loved ones first.
Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Cholewa) Zimmerman; loving father of Jeffrey (June) Zimmerman and Katherine (Matthew) Bower; dear stepfather of Kimberly (Greg) Brennan and Jennifer (Kevin) Kirisits; cherished grandfather of Zadie, Snow, Jeffrey Jr., Grace, Anna, Jack, Kiera, Payton, Travis, Sydney, and Michael. Brother of the late Grace Neureuther and Paul Zimmerman. Jim is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jim will be fondly remembered for his famous mystery trips with his grandchildren, creating unforgettable memories and filling their lives with adventure. Whether it was a baseball game, a visit to a maple syrup farm, or a trip to Niagara Falls, he always found a way to make the ordinary extraordinary. These special outings were more than just trips; they were treasured moments that his grandchildren will carry with them for a lifetime.
He loved the Florida sunshine and cherished the times spent hosting family for Easter and spring break. Whether gathering for a holiday, a family vacation, or simply celebrating a milestone, Jim never missed an opportunity to bring everyone together. He took immense pride in the accomplishments and happiness of those he loved, and he never passed up a chance to brag about his family. Across the Zimmerman, Bower, Brennan, and Hagan-Kirisits families, his presence was a constant source of laughter, love, and togetherness.
Jim's legacy is one of hard work, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. The traditions he created, the time he invested in his loved ones, and the memories he made will continue to live on for generations. Though his absence leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, the lessons he taught and the love he shared will never fade. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Thank you, Jim, for a lifetime of memories, for the laughter and traditions, and for showing us all what it truly means to put family first.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice.
