Phillis and I met Ron and Deana during the summer of 1968 when we were stationed at Lackland AFB together. Ron and Deanna were bound for Alaska and we had no idea where we were going.
We managed a long distance Christmas card/letter/occasional phone call/occasional visit friendship throughout these 49 years.
Ron and Deanna's magnificent personalities and wonderful hospitality always made our visits special and we could pick up as if it were only yesterday we had last visited each other.
Deanna's notice that Ron had passed was a great shock as he was always so full of life.
GOD has a special way of putting people in your life, and always for a purpose. Our lives are much fuller for having known Ron and Deanna. We know Ron is now with God talking with HIM about putting a smile on someone's face. Everytime I think of the paths ours lives have taken and crossed I will always smile and remember the evening we chased Armadillo's in Texas, or the visit to the Astrodome.
We will make every effort to keep Deanna in our prayers and travel plans. You do not often have the opportunity to make friends as special as these two and when you do, you do not just let them go.
Our hope and prayers are with Ron and Deanna and their great family.
Luv

Thanks for some great times hiking in Arizona. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, sharing the poem below with all.
Anne Schneider

Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I, and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you have always used.
Put no difference in your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we have always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together
Play, smile think of me and if you want to, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effect
Without a trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is unbroken continuity
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you
For an interval,
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.

Such sad news to hear about the passing of your husband and father. He was such an inspiration in my life while working for him at E&E for over 10 years. My condolences to Deanne, Todd and Dustin at this most difficult time.
