Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Curtis M. Shane and Ruth J. (Shane) Shane of Boyertown.
He attended Boyertown High School.
Surviving with his mother Ruth of Boyertown are two brothers, C. Gene Shane of Oley and Laverne D. Shane of Bedford County, PA; four sisters, Faye L. Swavely of Boyertown, Darlene S. Moser of Nebraska, Mary E. Mauger, of Colorado Springs, CO and Cindy K. Smith of Boyertown, also by many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be private of the convenience of the family.
