I worked with Dave at Allen Organ from 2001 until he retired in 2014. I ate lunch with him nearly every day and worked on puzzle books with him. He started working puzzle books after reading an article on keeping your mind sharp. He was always on point with his electronics and was a great guy. He invited me to grab dinner a few times at a local diner in Boyertown after he retired. Unfortunately, I never made the time in my schedule to catch-up- I do regret that. Over the years he did lots a great stuff- but the few I can remember at the moment was scanning in pictures for the history of our church and giving me quite a bit of equipment and parts when he was cleaning his workshop and after his brother passed. Every time I work on a project using the equipment or using a part from his cabinets- I remember him. He is missed.

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I am out of town and will not be able to attend the services, but wanted to share just a bit about Dave and myself. Dave and I were fast friends throughout high school. He and Don lived on Rhoads Avenue and I lived around the corner on Madison Street. Lots of memories. We spent almost every Friday night together and at that time Dave and his family observed meatless Friday's. So about 11:45 every Friday night Dave would get out the lunch meat, cheese and a whole bunch of other stuff. He made a sandwich and then sat there patiently until 12:01 when we dug into the food. In high school there were four of us Dave's that were friends. Dave Fridinger, Dave Schaeffer, myself and Dave. We'd have this routine walking down the halls, when someone would say Hi, we'd all turn in unison and say Hi. I know "high school stuff." I remember us driving through a big snowstorm for Don's wedding and reception. After high school, as so often the case, we drifted apart, but I will always treasure the times we had together. - Dave Focht
