Dawn C. Schaeffer Frey

She was born in Shamokin, Northumberland County on September 12, 1942. She was the daughter of James and Laura (Edwards) Metzenger. Upon the death of her mother in May, 1954 she was adopted by her late uncle and late aunt, Mark G. and C. Pearl (Edwards) Schaeffer. She was the widow Richard L. Frey, who died January 20, 1988.

She was the member of the class of 1960 of Boyertown Area High School, and of Bryland Beauty School of Reading. She was employed as a secretary at the same high school, as a beautician, and as an aerobics instructor at Boyertown YMCA.

She is survived by a daughter, Monica J. Vanderveen at home; a son, Erik s. Frey of West Reading; a brother, David R. Schaeffer and his wife Louise of New Berlinville and a niece Cathy Schaeffer.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick. The Reverend Burlington Latshaw will officiate.

Relatives and friends will be received Saturday between 9 – 10 a.m. at the mausoleum.

Internment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick.
