Donald James Gehringer Sr.

Donald J. Gehringer, Sr., 84, of Gilbertsville, passed away in his residence on Thursday, June 2, 2016. He was the husband of Antoinette “June” Gehringer. His first wife, Catherine Gehringer, predeceased him in 1990.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John B. Gehringer and Helen S. (Grim) Gehringer.

He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 610 Pine St. Bally, PA. 19503.

Donald was a lifelong farmer, drove school bus for Quigley Bus Service in Bally and worked for the Padre Pio Center.

He also loved spending time with his family, fishing (especially his annual boating trip to Canada), wood working, gardening and traveling.

Donald is survived by his daughters, Marie wife of Randy Brinckman of Boyertown: Patricia wife of Ronald Boyer of Hereford; Teresa widow of Daniel Drobins, Sr. of Gilbertsville and Rita wife of Thomas Droege of Boyertown. His sons, Donald J., Jr. husband of Cathy Gehringer and Frank husband of Linda Gehringer both of Barto. Stepchildren, Charles husband of Jean Colsher of Boyertown. Kenneth Colsher and Patricia Stauffer both of Reading. Brother, Norbert husband of Lorraine Gehringer of Barto. Grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Randy Jr., Cassandra, Kristi, Katie, Ron Jr., Stefanie, Daniel Jr., Jeffrey, Jennifer, Nicholas, Catherine, Emily, Thomas, Megan, Abigail and step-grandchild, Alyssa. Great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cody, Kelsey, Reese, Kyle, Nathan, Aryanna, Kolton, Eryn, Sophie, Kalina, Keyra and Mya. Great-great grandson, Brett. Donald is predeceased by, his daughter Ann Wertz, and his brother Leonard Gehringer

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Bally. On Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:30.

Friends and family may call at church Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Interment will be in Most Blessed Sacrament Church Cemetery.
