Serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Donald was in the Military Police. After his time in the service, he worked as a maintenance supervisor at the Cabot Corporation until 1987 when he retired. Donald was a member of the Friendship Hook and Ladder in Boyertown, the Pikeville Rod and Gun, and the Gablesville Athletic Association.
In 1977, Donald married Mary Jane (Hutt), with whom he spent many long and happy years with till his passing. He was also survived by his sons, John A. of Wilcox, AZ, Donald D. of Pennsburg, PA, James D. of Bally, PA, and Robert W. of Albuquerque, NM; a daughter, Sandra J. Shertz of Albuquerque, NM; and a step son, Scott Donelson of Boyertown, PA. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, as well as two cats named Peanut and Mama.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Boyertown, PA on Friday, December, 27th, 2019 at 11am. All are welcome.
