Emma has been in my life since 1968 when I started Kindergarten at "the little round school," Hereford Elementary. She had a unique way of listening to what people had to say, especially children and young adults, with great interest and no judgement. Her willingness to listen to thoughts and ideas encouraged more thought and discourse and was something I valued my entire life. Emma was as close as family for many years and then later, actual family. She embraced all of us with love and caring and never failed to thank us for each call and visit and for accepting her into our family as well. Emma was a loving wife and companion for our father, John, at a time in his life when companionship meant everything to him. I will always fondly remember when she & I had the chance to travel Europe together and the fun we had trying new things and having new adventures. Rest in peace in your beloved Hereford Hills Emma!

My condolences to the entire family. Mrs. Conway, my first grade teacher. What she did for me when I was hospitalized at a young age was never forgotten. She was a special woman and teacher. Heaven certainly has gained an angel. Rest is peace sweet lady.

Emma came with my sister, Irene Gehman for a visit in August 2000 to our northern New York home. We had a delightful time together and I always enjoyed seeing and talking with her when we visited Bally Mennonite Church.
