

Born in Schultzville (Barto), PA he was the son of the late Russell H. and Helen B. (Brensinger) Mest.
Harold served in the US Army in Japan following WWII as a transportation sergeant. Honey was a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis, PA. A life member of the Gilbertsville Fire Company, Friendship Hook & Ladder Fire Company, Boyertown and the VFW. He was a member of the Pike Township Sportsman's Association. He was a truck driver for CH Zern Transportation which later became West Motor Freight, Boyertown for 40 years retiring in 1987.
He is survived by two sons, James H., husband of Kathy Mest of Earlville and Randal S., husband of Suzanne Mest of Boyertown; two grandchildren, Jennifer, wife of Alex Cornelius of Gilbertsville and Travis, husband of Sarah (Guerrisky) Mest of Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Brennen and Rebekah Cornelius; four step-grandchildren, Stephanie Frederick, Jennifer Essig, Robert and William Campfield; four step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell B. Mest of Mantua, Ohio and Daniel B. Mest of Green Valley, AZ and a long time companion, Rose Babb of Earl Township, PA.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Saturday March 13, 2010 at Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA. The Reverend Jane Moffat Kropa will officiate.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday, March 13, 2010 between 9:30 - 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Huff's Union Cemetery, Alburtis, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA 18011.
