Helen Fehr Eash passed away peacefully on December 24, 2021. She was 94 years old. Helen was born in Easton, PA to the late Charles and Freda (Hahn) Fehr, graduated from Lansdale High School in 1945 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1949. She retired in 1988 as assistant to the president of Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA.
Helen was a kind, warm-hearted woman, gracious and well-spoken, but with a fun and sassy side. She embraced her family, step children, grandchildren and nieces as her own, and made everyone feel welcomed. She loved animals and treasured her little dogs, first Simon and then Emily. She once rescued a newborn feral kitten that was abandoned under her shed and nursed it back to health. That kitty, Mickey, went on to live a long life with her.
Helen shared 42 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Donald O. Eash, most of which they spent in their much-loved retirement home in the Pocono Mountains. Together they enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome and spending winters in Florida. Helen was previously married to Adrian C. Smith until his death in 1972.
Helen leaves behind friends and family, who love her dearly and will miss her, including her husband, Don, her step-children, Donna Dasher (Keith), Donald Eash (Tonia), Denise Reino (John), Dianne Malatesta, and Daniel Eash, her nieces June Goodyear Bean (Scott) and Jackie Goodyear Sacks (Barry), as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
In addition to her parents, Helen was pre-deceased by her dear sister, Marie E. Goodyear and brother-in-law Jack Goodyear.
A memorial Service will be held for Helen at 10:30am on January 7, 2022 at the chapel of Limerick Garden of Memories, with visitation from 10:00 to 10:30am.
