Homer, father of my first best friend, so that means I’ve known you a long time! Never forget your witty personality.. always tagging along with Phil when I called with a plumbing emergency ! I remember spending times at your house with Lori when we were kids being kids.
Be at peace now.

To my father. You were by far the best father a son could ever have. You gave so much of yourself to provide for us a roof over our heads food in our stomachs (sometime too much)and a love only a father could give. You were also a great teacher to many who work in the pump business. We always enjoyed our at least once a year vacations the times we played games on Sundays and just spending time together. Now we have to learn to face each day without seeing or talking to you but we have your strength to get us through. Don’t worry for us we will take care of the puppies until their time to go to the rainbow bridge and be picked up by you and mother. We will do our best to build on the people you helped us become. So until our time to join you in GODS glorious kingdom enjoy your time with mother and all the family and friends that have gone on before you. I love you father.

I remember so many wonderful things about my Dad. For almost 56 years, I have been fortunate to be able to say Homer DeFrain is my Dad, and for the rest of my life, I will always say that sentence with love and pride. If there is a man out there in this world who can compare to the kind of man that my Dad is, it will be hard to find him. My Dad is one of a kind. Warm, loving, smart, caring, funny, giving, hard working, patient, willing to help wherever he can. My Dad taught me it's okay to grow older, but not up. He makes it look so easy, enjoying everything you do, and doing the best you can do at the same time. I will miss my wonderful Dad. I will miss his smile, his funny comebacks, his love, his way of making me feel better. We had some great talks this past summer, spent a lot of time together, and made sure we both knew how the other felt. I don't know what a world without Homer S. DeFrain will be like, but I know it won't be as happy as it used to be. Daddy, please give Mom a kiss from me. Be happy now. I love you, Daddy.
