Jeannette Merkel

Born in Allentown. She was a daughter of the late Ruth (Alma) and Lester J. Hersh.

She was co-owner and operator of the Merkel's Shoe Barn for many years until her retirement.

Jeannette created her own social groups, enjoyed family outings and loved to travel.

She is survived by her children, Deborah M. Merkel of Boyertown and Michael A. husband of Sherri L. Merkel of Earl Twp. Grandchildren, Lauren N. wife of Shawn Reinhart of Oley, Brooke E. wife of Trevor DeLong of Earl Twp. and Christopher M. Merkel of Earl Twp. She is also survived by 4 sisters and her granddogs an grandcats.

Funeral Services will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 111 North Reading Ave. Boyertown, PA 19512. on Wednesday October 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.

Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories. Limerick, PA.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jeannette's name to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County 58 Kennel Rd. Birdsboro, PA 19508.
