John V. Henry

John V. Henry, 49, of Wyomissing. Husband of Linda B. (Carr) Henry. Passed away on Sunday November 27, 2022 in his residence. Born in Pottstown, PA. He was a son of the late Mary E. (Taggart) and James J. Henry, Jr. John was a 1993 graduate of Boyertown Area Senior High School and also a graduate of the Reading Police Academy. He proudly walked his Father’s footsteps serving our communities when he became a Police Officer serving in Douglass Township/ Berks County from 1996 to 2004, and also served in the Limerick Township Police Department from 2004 until his retirement in 2021. John was certified as an Accident Reconstructionist and his passion was helping children teaching the DARE program, and in the Juvenile Detention Board. John was a member of St. Columbkill Church, 200 Indian Spring Rd. Boyertown, PA. 19512. He was a member of the Fraternal Order Of Police. He was a past firefighter with the Gilbertsville Fire Company. John also had the annual Honor of presenting the Jim Henry Maxwell Football Award established by his grandfather. John was a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club. John is survived by his beautiful children who he has cherished being a proud father to and who were his pride and joy; Andrew J. Henry, Alexa R. Henry and Brenna E. Henry. Step-son Xavier Landan. Siblings, Mary C. wife of Todd Wisniewski, Julie A. Kastle, Shawn M. Henry and Catharine M. Mullin; and his nieces and nephews, John and Sara Wisniewski, Michelle Kelly and Richard Kastle, Gabrielle Henry, Cory and Toby Mullin. He is also survived by many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. He is predeceased by his brother, James V. Henry who passed away in 2021. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Columbkill Church on Friday December 9, 2022 at 1 p.m. Family and friends will be received at church Friday from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
