Kathryn Jones Torrente

She was born on May 5, 1946 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was the daughter of the late Helen B. (Hickman) and the late James D. Jones.

Kathy graduated from the University of Alabama with B.A. She was a founding chapter president in her sorority Kappa Alpha Theta. She graduated with MSLS from Case Western Reserve University. She worked at the University of Alabama Medical School Library. She also worked at Emory University Health Sciences Library. She was head of the reference department and also trained others in her field.

Kathy loved Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. She was a professional Ballerina in her younger years performing in the Nutcracker and teaching dance as well.

She is survived by a brother David, husband of Mickey Jones of Birmingham, AL, step-sons Michael L. Torrente of Easton, PA and Andrew I. Torrente of Jacksonville FL, stepmother Sara Jones of North Carolina, half-sisters Renee Jolly of Wilmington VA, Sara Drum of North Carolina, half-brother Sidney Jones of North Carolina, nieces Nancy Jones of Birmingham AL, Jennifer Comstock of Birmingham AL. and Rebecca Roberts of Birmingham AL. Grandnieces and Grandnephews, Autumn Roberts, Maya Jolly, Colter Jolly, Alexandria Comstock, Dexter Comstock, Luke Drum and Miles Drum.

A celebration of life will be at the Linwood Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 111 North Reading Avenue Boyertown PA. on Saturday November 8, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.Contributions may be made in Kathy's name to the Alzheimer's Association at 399 Market St. #250 Philadelphia, PA 19106. Or floral tributes will be appreciated.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
