Kathy Marie Gooding

68 at Pottstown Hospital. She was a resident of Boyertown, Pennsylvania.

Born in Pottstown, she was the only daughter of the late Marie Anne (Poley) and John T. Howard III.

Kathy worked for many years as a CNA at Pottstown Hospital and later provided in-home care before

retiring in 2016.

She loved spending time at the beach with her children and grandchildren—sunbathing by the ocean

and walking along the boardwalks. Kathy was also passionate about crafts. She crocheted numerous

blankets and hats for her family and enjoyed creating diamond paintings featuring her kids’ and

grandkids’ favorite things. She cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Ellie, who was always

by her side. Kathy also loved to cook and bake, making everyone’s favorite meals and inviting them over

for dinner, as well as baking their favorite cookies at Christmas.

She is survived by her children: Lindsay M. Cartmell, wife of William Cartmell of Boyertown; Kurt A.

Gooding, fiancé of Nicole M. Perkins of Boyertown; and Nathan D. Gooding of Boyertown. She is also

survived by her brother, Mark Howard of West Reading, PA; her grandchildren, Ian Strauss, Leah Strauss,

Kody Hunsicker, and Nora Cartmell; and her great-granddaughter, Alexandria Strauss. She was

predeceased by her stepson, Matthew D. Gooding, and her brother, John Howard.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday November 12, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
