Kenneth G. Weisel , 80 years old, passed away Friday February 22 2013 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Ken was a resident at Frederick Living Community and a past resident of Boyertown. Born in Perkasie to the late Mamie (Greenawalt) and Curwen Weisel, he was a graduate of Hilltown High School as well as Ursinus College. He received his master’s degree in Education from Lehigh University.
Ken, who retired in 1992, was a mathematics teacher at Boyertown Junior High West Center. He also served in the US Army. He was active in his community and church life at New Life Bible Fellowship in Oley. He also had served as a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, on the zoning board for the borough of Boyertown, and was a judge of elections for many years. In his free time he enjoyed singing, golfing and playing chess. He especially loved time with his grandchildren.
Beloved by his family, he is survived by his wife Patricia (Jafolla) whom he cherished. He is also survived by his children Daughter Pamela, wife of Dave Yanusko, and mother of Bethany Marvel, Chelsea and Ian Yanusko, as well as grandmother of Noah Marvel. Daughter Carolyn Loughery, who is the mother of Samuel Loughery. Son Stephen husband of Donna and father of Nathaniel, Tori and Zachary Weisel. Youngest son Andrew husband of Kristin and father of Benjamin, Aaron and Emma Weisel. Kenneth is also survived by a brother Donald husband of Marion Weisel and a sister Eleanor Vogel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday February 28th at 11 AM from New Life Bible Fellowship Rte 73 Oley Pa. Viewing will be held Wednesday February 27th from 6:30 till 8:30 at Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home 111 North reading Ave. Boyertown, Pa. Friends and relatives will also be received Thursday from 9:30 till 10:45 at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his memory to New Life Bible Fellowship, PO box 114 Oley Pa. 19547. Family request you write “missions” in the correspondence.
