Born in Philadelphia he was a son of the late Amelia (Goodavich) and Michael Massey.
He graduated from Villanova University in 1961.
Michael was employed in sales all his working life until his retirement. He is a member of St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church in Boyertown.
Michael is survived by his wife, Virginia A. Bosler; children, Michael J, Jr. husband of Michelle Massey of Pikeville, NC; Elizabeth wife of Joseph Nottoli of Atlanta, GA. Colin W. husband of Cheryl Bosler of Whitehall and Trevor T. husband of Bonnie Bosler of Boyertown; a sister, Gloria wife of John Harkins of Ohio; and six grandchildren.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
