Arlene was born in Oley, PA on January 3, 1926 to the late Mabel B. (Prutzman) and Floyd A. Wentzel.
She graduated from Oley Valley High School in 1943 with honors and was a member of the band/orchestra as well as a cheerleader and majorette.
After graduation she began working at Kelray Knitting Mills in West Reading taking the bus to and from work daily. After her marriage to Earl W. Geisler in June 1946 they relocated to the Boyertown area. She became a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd and kept active there until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She continued to follow Pastor Matt as he brought his service to Chestnut Knoll where she resided until her death.
Arlene was excited about gardening at her Schaeffer Street home. She shared these duties with Earl, however, he declared to be the farmer in charge!
Keeping a small residence in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware gave them the opportunity for boating, fishing and swimming. Arlene loved the boardwalk and listened to the bands that played on the weekends.
Now this free play was always scheduled around her true love of Avon. Everyone in her district called her “Their Avon Lady.“ Aging she knew she couldn’t keep up the pace but continued selling Avon products at their own stand at Leesport Auction. Avon was in her life as she truly loved her work. Arlene earned Hawaii and Bermuda award trips where she celebrated with other women from across the country.
After the grandchildren arrived she would spend as much time entertaining them at Nana’s house.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane and husband Gene Bartolomeo of Gilbertsville; grandsons, Jordon, husband of Annie Bartolomeo of Gilbertsville and John, husband of Rebecca Bartolomeo of Justin, TX; great-grandchildren, Rowan, Leo, Jack, Sophia.
We are thankful she made it through the COVID crisis. Now she was being called off of this earth due, and unable to recover from a recent illness. We are thankful for her full life as we all look back and say “Our family had it pretty good!”
We all will miss you, Mom, Nana, Arlene, Avon Lady
