Allmendinger, passed away in the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown on Friday, January 7, 2022.
Born in Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Nellie E. (Miller) Nester and Robert D.
Keyser.
Nellie was a homemaker and then worked at Judson Smith, then worked at Keller’s Creamery
as an Egg Packer, and then as a Visiting Nurse Aid until her retirement in 2004. She was also
the Caregiver to her Mother-In-Law, Helen Allmendinger, her Father, Robert, her Mother, Nellie,
and her Stepfather, Robert Nester.
Nellie was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boyertown. She was also a
member of the Reading Liederkranz and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #251.
She is survived by her Children, Barbara J., wife of Eugene W. Pell, Bechtelsville, PA, Gary D.
Pilgert, companion of Nancy A. Powelson of Boyertown, PA, Patricia A., wife of Daniel L. Dise of
Schwenksville, PA, Glenn Pilgert of Boyertown, and Sharon L. wife of Charles Kopf 3rd of
Exeter, PA. Stepchildren, Karl Allmendinger of Reading, PA and Heidi, wife of Brian Orth Jr,
Blandon, PA. She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Nellie is
predeceased by her son, Brian L. Pilgert.
Nellie loved her many flower gardens and house plants. She could grow a plant from a leaf. She
also loved watching the many birds and wild animals that visited the property in Douglassville.
Memorial services will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 111 North Reading
Avenue, Boyertown, PA. 19512 on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00am.
Family and friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Saturday, from 10:00 to 11:00am.
(At the request of the family, Masks are mandatory.)
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
