Roland Henry Schock, 77, of Summerton, SC husband of Joanne Elaine Pfleger Schock, died Sunday, June 16, 2019, at his home. Born February 13, 1942, in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Roland Gordon Schock and, LaRue Elizabeth Seip Schock. He was a US Air Force veteran, a retired police officer with the Colebrookdale Township Police Department, and a retired District Justice and Senior District Justice for Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was a real estate agent for Century 21/The Alderman Agency, which later became Santee Associates Realty. He was a member of the National Fraternal Order of Police, Boyertown Masonic Lodge #741, and he was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Joanne Elaine Pfleger Schock, 70, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at her home. Born March 1, 1949, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Richard Newton Pfleger and Vera Louise Moyer Pfleger. She was a retired legal secretary and she was blessed to be a part of nurturing Mackenzie, Mason, and Madison Ham. She was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening and creating in the kitchen.
Roland and Joanne are survived by two daughters, Hope Schock George (Roy) of Ruther Glen, Virginia and Tina Schock Mathias (Mark) of Boyertown, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Ashley Jalowy, Nick Nensel, Maggie Neiman (Jarid) and Holly Trump (George); and a great grandson. Roland is also survived by a brother, Terry Schock; and a sister, Patricia Schock Reinert (Nelson), both of Boyertown, Pennsylvania. Joanne was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Bonetz, and survived by two sisters, Judy Pfleger Bonetz of Douglassville, Pennsylvania and Janice Pfleger Reinhart (Lowell) of Branchburg, New Jersey.
The Memorial Service will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, 111 North Reading Ave, Boyertown PA, 18049, on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11am. Family and friends can call prior that day from 9am to 11am. Online condolences may be made at www.lwottfuneralhome.com.
