Sally J. DeMartini, 83, of Sanatoga, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Paul V. DeMartini of 34 years and her five children: Linda and her husband, Gary Jesberg of Chesterfield, MO; Scott and his wife, Deborah of Ballston Spa, NY; Marcia and her husband, Jeff Cowin of Sanatoga, PA; Eric and his wife, Crystal of Port St. Lucie, FL and Amy Lauritsen of New York, NY, as well as her sister, Barbara Green of Pittsboro, North Carolina.

She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Christine (Fiske) Stickney, and predeceased by son-in-law Michael DeCasper (Amy Lauritsen), and her legacy continues with six grandchildren, Daniel Gladding and his wife, Blair; Mitchell Lauritsen, Gillian and Charles Cowin, Eric Lauritsen and his wife, Desi, Wesley Lauritsen and two great grandchildren and five wonderful nieces – Sally, Judy, Kathy, Nancy and Barbara Jane.

Sally was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. Her husband, children and grandchildren were everything to her. Her sense of humor, kindness, charm and personality touched anyone who had the privilege to know her and love her. Her heart had no limitations, her love no boundaries.

A graduate of University of Michigan, Sally was a dental hygienist for over 25 years until her retirement. She was an excellent cook and a gracious hostess that made anyone who entered her home feel special. Sally found something unique in everyone who crossed her path. An avid lover of the arts, she enjoyed music, poetry, artwork and was a casual but talented artist herself. A giving woman, she lived by the following, a favorite saying, “I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.”

Having the joy of working with Sally for so many years, I got to be around one of the most nurturing, kind, honest and simply put, most decent person I will ever meet. She will be greatly missed. I will always remember our immense amount of fun. How with just a look we knew what the other was thinking and then burst into laughter. My deepest sympathies to Linda, Scott , Marsha, Rick, and Amy. I feel as though I know all of you so well from the wonderful stories your mother shared with me.

I will miss my Aunt Sal and her fun ways and sense of humor. She was an amazing cook and always had something new for us to try. I cherish the time I got to spend with her while I was in Florida and she will remain in my heart forever. Much love, Kathy

Sally was one of those people who always made a person feel good. She was always giving and always added love and life to any gathering. She lived next to my mom and dad in Florida. I really enjoyed her company when I visited. I will miss her!

Sally was the first person I met when Chet & I moved to Florida. I was immediately taken to her sweetness and have loved her ever since. She had the most amazing ability of making everyone feel they were special. Over the past seventeen years we have cried on each other's shoulder many times, with me doing most of the crying. Her greatest memory will always be her wonderful kindness to all who came in contact with her. She will forever be remembered and loved. My heart goes out to the family and to Paul. We have all lost a true treasure. Her friendship meant so much to me and I will always miss and love her.

I will forever miss the sparkling sweetness of my lovely Big Sol. She was the Best Auntie, a very witty, funny person, the greatest hostess and cook, and most wonderful sister to my mother. What a loss for all who knew her, but I know she will go on to delight eternally . Love always from Little Sol (Niece Sally, Florida)

I will always have fond memories of Nana taking me to Disneyworld, going out of her way to make a nice dinner when I visited her, and making me feel comfortable and loved. I miss you and love you Nana.
