Born in East Greenville she was the daughter of the late Alverta (Nester) and Earl F. Clauser.
Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Boyertown High School, a homemaker and an avid gardener. She was a member of New Goshenhoppen Church, East Greenville.
Surviving with her husband Harold of 48 years (Married August 25, 1962) five sons, Harold R. Burns, Jr. and his wife Karla of Pottstown, Kevin Burns, Todd Burns and Jerel Burns all of Boyertown and Jeremy Burns and his wife Jean of Temple; two sisters, Eleanor, widow of Dan Johnson of Gilbertsville and Judy wife of Richard Fink of Boyertown; a brother, Earl D. Clauser of Red Hill; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family
Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories.
