Sterling J. Yocom, Sr., 87, of Pottstown. Husband of Shirley E. (Gebhard) Yocom. Passed away on Saturday November 3, 2018 in the Manatawny Manor. Born in Pottstown. He was a son of the late Edwin N. Yocom and Helen M. (Swavley) Barb. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Pottstown. Sterling served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the Post Office in Pottstown for over 28 years until his retirement. Previously he worked for Twin County Construction. Sterling is survived by his son, Theodore R. Yocom of Reading. Brothers, David Yocom of Pottstown and Robert Yocom of Reading. He is survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sterling is predeceased by his sons, Joseph E. Yocom and Sterling J. Yocom, Jr. and his grandson, Daniel A. Yocom. Funeral Services will be held at the Limerick Garden of Memories Chapel of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum on Thursday November 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends may call at the Mausoleum on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories.
