Sydney Fern Pearce

Sydney Fern (Brewer) Pearce, whose life was a testament to faith, service, and devotion, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 29, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late William Boyd Pearce who passed away in 2020. Born September 26, 1934, in Goose Creek, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Buster and Nona (Carpenter) Brewer.

Sydney was a graduate of Baylor University, and her life was deeply rooted in her love for the Lord and her unwavering commitment to the church. Her ministry extended far beyond the walls of her home church, as she spent 35 years serving as a missionary in Kenya and Tanzania, sharing the Gospel and uplifting countless lives through her kindness, and dedication. As a devoted pastor's wife, she stood faithfully beside her husband, offering strength, encouragement, and compassion to all who crossed her path.

Sydney was always a member of a church. She became a member of the Salem Bible Church upon relocating to Pennsylvania. Sydney was a cherished part of all congregations she was a part of. She used her musical gifts to glorify God, faithfully playing the piano during services and special gatherings, bringing joy through every note. Sydney also had a heart for community and fellowship. She found joy in leading an exercise class for senior citizens, encouraging not only physical health, but also friendship, laughter, and connection among those she served.

She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, servant's heart, and steadfast faith. Sydney's legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, both near and far, and in the enduring example she set of a life lived fully for others and for Christ. She will be deeply missed by her family, her missionary family, and all who were blessed to know her.

Sydney is survived by her children, Sheri Harris, wife of Glenn and Randal Pearce, husband of Janelda. She was predeceased by her son William Dirk Pearce, husband of Libby, who passed away in 2024. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy, husband of Vanessa, Shana, wife of John, Michael, husband of Courtney, Courtney, wife of Jason, Candace, Garret, husband of Charlotte, Terah, wife of Josh, Ethan, Zach, Makenzie, Jessica, wife of Chris and Mikayla, wife of Jeremy. Sydney is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 beginning at 10:00am at The Chapel at Salem Bible Church, 8031 Salem Bible Church Road, Macungie PA, 18062. A memorial service will follow beginning at 11:00am. Interment will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth TX.
