Christine was born on July 25, 1959, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Joseph Waligora and Helen Lech. She spent the first 25 years of her life in Johnstown before making her home in Germantown, Maryland, where she lived for 34 years. In 2019, she and her husband relocated to Bradenton, Florida, where they enjoyed the next seven years together.
Christine dedicated her career to helping others as a social worker at Shady Grove Nursing Home. Through her compassion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those in her care, she touched countless lives. She retired in 2019 after many years of devoted service.
Above all else, Christine treasured her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished sister whose greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved. She created lasting memories through family vacations to Hilton Head Island, where laughter and togetherness became treasured traditions. She also found joy in scrapbooking, preserving family memories for future generations, and was a devoted Penn State football fan who rarely missed cheering on the Nittany Lions.
Christine is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Vogel; her daughter, Emily Vogel; her brother, Larry Waligora, and his wife, Sharon Waligora. She will be remembered for her generous heart, gentle spirit, and the love she shared so freely with her family, friends, colleagues, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will remain an enduring legacy.
Funeral and memorial service information will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
